Why the heck would anybody start a site about organic baby shampoo? Well, it's something that strikes a chord with me. What can I say? I've always been one to go green and natural and all that stuff. I'm aware of what I'm putting in and even on my body. I eat well. I wear natural clothes and I use organic products such as soaps and shampoos. This particular interest in organic baby products came about when I had a child though. I'm just doing what I think is right and spreading the word along the way!

It's not so much about what is inside the shampoo as it is about what isn't inside the shampoo. Regular shampoos have all sorts of crap in them like artificial toxins and dyes. Do you want this kind of stuff in your baby's hair? Heck no! Here's a few of the things that you want to look for on the label when considering an organic shampoo.

The three big NO'S! Any good organic soap or shampoo will advertise the following three no's on the label.

No sodium lauryl sulfate
No artificial preservatives
No artificial fragrances or dyes

You don't want any of the above in your child's hair. Imagine artificial dyes going into your baby's eyes! AHH!

The second most important thing to look for, in my opinion, is the "Certified Vegan" tag. If you see this on the label, you're golden! This basically means that the product inside the container is 100% organic. No artificial junk - All natural goodness. The best, and someone argue only, option for your young one,

There are several place where one can buy organic baby shampoo. Three more or less jump into my mind right away. The first one is your average everyday drugstore. The second is an organic food/goods shop. And the third is online.

If you want to find organic products at a regular drugstore, be careful. It's quite possible that what you're getting isn't truly an organic item. Make sure that you do your due diligence. Read the labels on the shampoo carefully. Look for any word that you can't pronounce! If your shampoo has hemoglobinmychonidrean in it, it's probably not organic! Don't be afraid to ask for help either. I find that employees at these types of places are quite well informed.

Another popular place to buy organic soaps and shampoos is at a health food type place. These places are great! The staff members are always very knowledgeable and take a lot of pride in what they sell. Again... Don't be afraid to ask questions! I find that these people love to talk about everything organic and natural. I suppose the one drawback to shops like this is that they can be quite pricey. It's often worth looking online for something once you know it works for you.

Online is a great place to find organic products nowadays. There are massive networks of organic loving people online. Be aware though... There are a few key reasons why one would should use organic baby shampoo. Basically though, it comes down to two things in my opinion. The first reason is about the health of your child. The second is for the sake of the environment.

Organic stuff is more healthy than non-organic stuff. Plain and simple! Be it food, soap, clothing, or shampoo, organic products are natural. You don't need all the chemicals that big business has been telling us we need for all these years. When considering your child's health think about this. Do you want chemicals in your baby's hair? Of course not! Organic shampoo is natural and better for your child in the long run.

Natural products are also better for the environment. Most companies that produce organic products are keen on the whole green movement thing. They care about the earth. This line of thinking comes across in their end product. The stuff they make, in this case shampoo, is natural and good for the earth. It's made from the ground up and there are no nasty chemicals that will end up going down our drain.

Both these reasons should be enough to convince you why you, as a parent, should be using organic baby shampoo. The stuff is better for your child and better for the environment. Even if you have to shell out an extra couple pennies, it's worth it!
